Our local community is of great importance to us at Neighborhood. Supporting our local neighborhood is our ethos and reflected in all the details of our business from serving local craft beers, to utilizing local farm products in our kitchen. We focus in on the micro, our neighborhood, promoting not only local, but conscious and educated consumerism. We are collaborating with our East Village neighbors at 5&A DIME to bring a fun and beneficial opportunity to our community. On Wednesday the 30th stop by 5&A DIME and buy a signature 5&A DIME - Neighborhood pint glass then come across the street to Neighborhood and we will fill it for you with a rare Stone Brewery craft beer. 5&A DIME will also be selling a limited edition Neighborhood-5&A DIME t-shirts and hoodies. Eat, drink, think and play well.
Stone Brews are highly sought after in San Diego, nationwide and beyond, so of course we are excited to be tapping Stone’s 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA. This year’s anniversary ale is yes, another anniversary IPA. When you master something why not flaunt it, and for those with brave and in-tune hop palates, Stone IPA’s are held in high regard. All Stone’s IPAs are unique, but this 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA is guaranteed to reside in a league of it’s own. Inspired by a venture to England and through an investigation into the often muddled history of the India Pale Ale, the top minds at Stone, using all British ingredients, created a classic style with a proper Stone twist. Check out the video below on tasting notes from the minds themselves and prepare for a palate paradigm shift. Wednesday, June 30th we will be tapping Stone’s 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA as well as Stone/Dogfish Head/Victory collaboration Saison Du Buff and El Camino, a Stone/Firestone Walker/21st Amendment joint effort.
In this city of craft beer enthusiasts, four more months until the 2010 San Diego Beer Week is far too long of a time to wait. To relieve the pressure of anticipation, this weekend (June 10-13) we help to welcome the 2010 San Diego Beer Week Preview Weekend. In honor of one of San Diego's most innovative craft brewing companies, we will be featuring The Lost Abbey here at Neighborhood.
Lost Abbey produces a truly imaginative and unique version of classic style Belgian Ales, priding themselves on thinking, and brewing outside of the box. They have over 800 oak wine, bourbon, sherry and brandy barrels creating one of the most impressive barrel-aging programs, period. Friday the 11th we will be tapping Lost Abbey's Gift of the Magi, Devotion, Judgement Day, Lost & Found, Red Barn, Serpent Stout and Angel's Share and will also have some rare bottles including Red Poppy Ale and the never distributed Framboise de Amarosa. The first 50 people will also receive a signature Lost Abbey tumbler glass with their Lost Abbey beer of choice.
Friday the 11th, come drink outside the box at Neighborhood, get a free Lost Abbey tumbler glass, enjoy some of the most creative and unique Lost Abbey brews and feel good knowing you consumed intelligently.
Staying true to our celebration of all things artisanal,
we’re pleased to now offer our wine savvy crowd a damn fine selection of small
production labels from across the US.
What is ‘small
production’ you ask? Another name for boutique, or micro-wineries, these producers
might not even have access to their own wineries (although some do); rather,
grapes are purchased in small batches, and then lovingly crafted into
one-of-a-kind varieties. There are a multitude of factors that influence the
unique flavors in each bottle, from the changing seasons, to grape selection
and sorting; crushing, fermentation, and keeping close track of each barrel’s
contents and age. Wine making has been a labor of love since the beginning of
time it seems, and we’re celebrating the tradition of its small production
roots at Neighborhood.
As with all the craft beverages we serve, a commitment to
both art and science is apparent in each of the small production bottles
featured on our menu. Passion and dedication are sentiments we raise a glass to
at Neighborhood, so remember that our wine related happy hour falls every
Wednesday (2 for 1 bottles) from 4-7pm.
Remember our wine-related happy hour is 2 for 1 bottles on

We’ve waited a long time to serve coffee to our guests, mostly due to a lack of passion for any brand or variety on the market. But, after a year of attempts to acquire what we think is the best cup of coffee in the US, we can finally offer a damn good cup- of Stumptown Coffee.
Based in Portland Oregon, Stumptown Coffee Roasters are recognized for leading the ‘3rd Wave’ coffee movement by seeking out, paying top dollar for, and roasting the most sought after coffee beans in the world. ‘First Wave’ coffee refers to coffee as a beverage of the world; the second, refers to the Starbucks era of trendy Aribica based drinks; and the Third Wave (a response to the 2nd), has a harder focus on the craft of roasting elegantly farmed beans. Stumptown is leading the new movement of how coffee is bought, sold and consumed. As a craft-focused establishment, we’re fans.
The founder of Stumptown, Duane Sorenson, visits coffee farms around the world paying more than 3 times fair trade prices for the precious beans which fuel some of most touted coffee shops in the Pacific Northwest, and now Neighborhood. Stop in for a cup, before or after your craft beers. Because all beverages should be worth savoring.
