FALL BEER ON DRAFT AT THE HOOD

As is almost always in San Diego, the weather is still nice. Signs of fall creep in as the shadows on the ground change, the days are a little shorter, and the "nice" weather is still nice, but in a different way...However, the taplist over here is a sure sign that fall is in full swing. We've been rotating through some Oktoberfest-Marzen style beers like the well balanced one from Craftsman in Pasadena and the light, fruity one from Victory in Downington, PA. Oktoberfests are traditionally German lagers, also called Marzens, with a higher malt bill and slightly higher alcohol content than those made for summer sipping. We are also pouring Dogfish Head's Punkin, brewed with fresh pumpkin meat and spices for a sublte holiday flavor and Avery Kaiser, an imperial Oktoberfest. Other maltier beers on tap right now are New Belgium Super Cru, Airdale Angry Panda, Avery Hog Heaven, and Maredsous Blonde. Keep your eye out for Craftsman Harvest Saison, Sierra Nevada Tumber brown ale, and local favorites Pizza Ports' Truck Stout and High Tide IPA. See you at the 'Hood.
