Stumptown Coffee @Neighborhood

May 21, 2010

We’ve waited a long time to serve coffee to our guests, mostly due to a lack of passion for any brand or variety on the market. But, after a year of attempts to acquire what we think is the best cup of coffee in the US, we can finally offer a damn good cup- of Stumptown Coffee.

Based in Portland Oregon, Stumptown Coffee Roasters are recognized for leading the ‘3rd Wave’ coffee movement by seeking out, paying top dollar for, and roasting the most sought after coffee beans in the world. ‘First Wave’ coffee refers to coffee as a beverage of the world; the second, refers to the Starbucks era of trendy Aribica based drinks; and the Third Wave (a response to the 2nd), has a harder focus on the craft of roasting elegantly farmed beans. Stumptown is leading the new movement of how coffee is bought, sold and consumed. As a craft-focused establishment, we’re fans.

The founder of Stumptown, Duane Sorenson, visits coffee farms around the world paying more than 3 times fair trade prices for the precious beans which fuel some of most touted coffee shops in the Pacific Northwest, and now Neighborhood. Stop in for a cup, before or after your craft beers. Because all beverages should be worth savoring.
